The Norco Optic C1 dual suspension mountain bike has been reinvigorated and renergised in 2020 for full speed trail action. In 2020 the Optic has the same name, but it has changed the game with every aspect of this bike examined and improved. The optic is a high-speed machine which offers the agility and control required to hit every turn at max velocity when you descend.
Norco built the Optic with a progressive and aggressive geometry for short-travel, high-speed riding. The combination of Norco’s updated Gravity Tune, longer reach, steep seat tube angle and slacker head tube angle distributes weight towards the front for better traction and control, as well as incredibly powerfully pedalling. This design inspires confidence for playful descents, boosted jumps and slick corners. While the carbon frame with alloy rear triangle maximises strength and durability, yet minimises weight with this awesome frame construct. The Fox Elite 36 Fork with 140mm travel on the front and custom Fox Elite Float DPX2 Rear Shock which offers 125mm travel on the back are setup so that you can shred up even when they trails get rough.
If it isn’t clear already, this bike will be one of the best bikes you have ever descended on. The Shimano XTR M9120 Hydraulic Disc Brakes with 180mm rotors offer unrivalled stopping power and control, while the stiffer and lighter 29” Stans Flow S1 Rims offer speed and traction in combination with Vittoria tyres.
The Norco Optic offers unmatched clarity at top speed and you really can tell that Norco are the experts when it comes to mountain biking, inspired by the mountains surrounding their Vancouver HQ. If you want an unbelievably snappy and quick bike which descends like a boss then look no further than the Norco Optic C1, clearly one of the best dual suspension mountain bikes for sale in its category.
Progressive Design: The Optic uses Norco’s holistic approach to fit, geometry and suspension kinematics to achieve its playfully aggressive personality. The unique combination of our next generation of Gravity Tune, longer reach, slacker head tube angle and steep seat tube angle provides a more forward weight distribution within a longer wheelbase. This allows more powerful pedaling, increased climbing traction and added grip and control when descending so riders can attack the trail.
Equipped to Descend: To bolster the Optic’s descending prowess, each bike is equipped with 4-piston disc brakes, shorter seat tubes, long-stroke dropper posts and aggressive knobby tyres.
Fully Custom Suspension: We created the Optic’s suspension design around a very specific shock, with spring and damper characteristics that would help define its ride. Unfortunately, that shock didn’t exist, so we asked RockShox to build us a fully customized Super Deluxe Ultimate DH rear shock with everything we were looking for, and they delivered! We liked it so much, in fact, that we put it on every Optic in the line!
High Speed by Design: By relaxing the Optic’s head angle for stability, we fine-tuned the handling with reduced-offset forks and short 45mm stems to provide additional high-speed precision and predictability for more aggressive trail riding.
Custom Setup: We put a lot of effort into ensuring riders have the best possible ride quality and experience on any of our Norco bikes. Setting up your bike correctly is essential when you want to get the most out of your Optic. Our detailed setup assistant allows riders to set up their bike and suspension for their weight, morphology, terrain and personal preference.
